The central region is among the sixteen administrative regions we have in Ghana. The Capital City of this region is Cape Coast.

A number of the places you can visit when u go to the central region are the beaches, ancient castles like the Elmina castle, Forts and additionally forest reserve parks like the Kakum National park.

When it comes to scrumptious dishes, you have no problem. You could get local meals like “Fante dorkunu” and “Fante Fante in this area. Fantes are the major tribe in the central and they have fun festivals like “Aboakyiri”, “Bakatue”, “Ahobaa” and among others.

Ghana’s music industry has great talents from the Central region of Ghana and in this article, I will be talking about some great musicians from the central region and their real names.

Below is a list of some Ghanaian musicians who hail from the central region;

• Kwaw Kese

The real name of kwaw kese is Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey. He hails from Agona-Swedru in the Central Region. “Abodam” as he is popularly called, is one of the popular musicians from Central region and have been in Ghana’s music industry for a long time. He has many songs but some of these songs I can talk about are “Yakubu”, “Kati boom”, Bottles, and ” Swedru Agona”.

He is a past student of Winneba Senior High School, located at Winneba in the Central region of Ghana.

• Patapaa

Patapaa, born Justice Amoah is a high life musician from Agona swedru in the central region of Ghana. He is well know for his ” One Corner ” hit song which got every Ghanaian dancing and also became popular in other countries as well.

Aside his ” one corner” hit song, he has featured in a couple of songs and have released his own songs titled “Chensee”, destiny, “Suro nipa”, “Kumchacha” and others.

• Eshun

Ethel Esi Eshun, known in showbiz as Eshun is a female musician and a songwriter in Ghana. She hails from the central region but was born in Tema. She was enstooled as a queen mother of development together with wendy shay in 2019 at Gomoa Afransi, a town in the Central Region. 

• Teephlow

Born Lukeman Ekow Baidoo, Teephlow a rapper who hails from Kotokuraba in the Central region. With no doubt, Teephlow is one of the best rappers in Ghana.

He is an alumnus of T.I Ahamadiyya senior high school and a graduate from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

• Kahpun

Born Samuel Kobena Ampah, Kahpun is a fast rising dancehall/Reggae artiste from cape coast in the central region of Ghana. He is an alumnus of T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School.

• Renner

Mercy Nana Efua Renner, known in showbiz as Renner is a Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall artiste. She hails from Elmina in the Central Region but lives in Nungua, Accra.

• Isaac Crentsil

Isaac Crentsil is a Ghanaian gospel musician from cape coast in the Central region of Ghana. He has songs titled “Anuonyam”, Happy fathers day, and released a Song titled “Coronavirus” which was meant to create awareness.

• Chikel Baibe

Doris Inkoom, popularly known as Chikel Baibe is a young artiste from the central region. She is an alumnus of Mando Senior High School located at the Ajumako Mando.

• Queen haizel

Queen haizel, born Mercedes Haizel Cobbinah is a Ghanaian Afrobeats artiste and see’s herself as a queen in everything she does according to her. She is from Komenda in the central region of Ghana.

Queen haizel won the best female vocalist at the 2018 Central music Awards. She has songs like Bravo, “Yetwem” featuring Wages Rap, Rudebwoy, Black woman, and among others.
