COVID-19: Potiskum LGA Distributes Face Mask to Tricycle Riders

DAMATURU- As part of measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Potiskum local government area has distributed hundreds of face mask to commercial tricycle riders on Monday.

Director Personnel Management (DPM) and Overseer of Potiskum local government area, Ibrahim Yayangida Abubakar lead the distribution at the entrance of the central market, old motor park as well as new motor park.
Speaking to Daily Independent shortly after the distribution, the DPM said that the measure has become necessary in view of the level of interaction by these group of people.

According to him “since the outbreak of the pandemic, at the grassroot we have been on top of the situation through constant sensitization campaign on the preventive measures as well as enforcement of the law”.

He commended the efforts of the State Covid19 Prevention Committee for their dedication and commitment towards informing the citizens and support.

Yayangida used the forum to facilitate with the state Governor Maimala Buni for the successful one year in office “it has become necessary for us to congratulate him because Potiskum is witnessing development within his tenure, the Yobe Flour and Feed Mill, Potiskum has been resuscitated, Sahel Aluminum Company, Potiskum too has been activated thus engaging our agile youths.Buni similarly embarked on the construction of Trailer Truck Transit Park in Potiskum town and Potiskum modern market and housing estate underway.”

“Governor Buni is sincerely unique leader with all the qualities of leadership, Potiskum town and environs have benefited from the Covid19 palliatives in different ways, this has alleviated the sufferings of our people and made governance easy for us at the grassroot”.
